Thomas Carty

Thomas “The Bomber” Carty is a Dublin-based Irish heavyweight who has established himself as one of the country’s leading fighters in the division. A 6-foot-4 southpaw, Carty has built his reputation around his power, aggressive style and extensive experience on major cards in Ireland and the UK.

Carty made his professional debut in 2021 and quickly built momentum with a series of stoppage wins. He fought at major venues including the O2 Arena, Wembley Arena, Nottingham Arena and Dublin’s 3Arena, becoming a regular presence on major Irish boxing cards.

In May 2023, Carty captured the Boxing Union of Ireland Celtic heavyweight title by stopping Jay McFarlane in the third round. He followed that with stoppage victories over Dan Garber, Pavel Sour and Jonathan Exequiel Vergara before stopping Mika Mielonen in the third round in December 2024.

Carty has also gained valuable experience through sparring with some of the biggest names in the heavyweight division. He has worked with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, while his manager, former WBC interim heavyweight champion Dillian Whyte, has backed him as a potential future world champion.

Carty suffered the first defeat of his professional career in March 2025, losing to Dajuan Calloway by retirement after the second round at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York. The setback ended his unbeaten run and became the first major test of his professional career.

He returned to action nearly a year later, defeating German Skobenko by unanimous decision over six rounds at Dublin’s 3Arena on March 14, 2026. Carty now continues his career with his sights set on climbing back toward the top of the heavyweight division.
