Biography
Thomas Dulorme Cordero, born January 29, 1990, in Marigot, Saint Martin, is a professional boxer known for his agility and power in the ring. Holding dual nationalities, Dulorme proudly represents Puerto Rico in the sport. Known as "El Francés" ("The Frenchman"), he has competed in both the light welterweight and welterweight divisions.
Dulorme's early life involved several relocations; he moved from Saint Martin to Puerto Rico at the age of three, spent some time in the Dominican Republic, and then settled back in Puerto Rico at the age of eight. His early exposure to boxing led to a successful amateur career where he won multiple Golden Gloves tournaments across Saint Martin, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico, amassing an impressive record of 140 wins against just 2 losses. His passion for boxing is a family affair, with his younger brother, Starling Cordero, also being a professional boxer.
Professionally, Dulorme faced challenges from the outset but quickly established himself as a formidable contender with a streak of 10 consecutive knockouts early in his career. His notable fights include a unanimous decision victory over former welterweight titleholder DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley in 2011 and a first-round knockout against Aris Ambriz in 2012. Despite a setback in 2015 when he challenged for the WBO light welterweight title, Dulorme has continued to compete at high levels, including a unanimous decision loss to Jamal James in 2020 and a similar outcome against Eimantas Stanionis, where his performance, although not victorious, showcased his resilience and skill in the welterweight division.
