Joseph Gerome Hicks Jr. (born November 23, 1993) is an American professional boxer from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Nicknamed “SUG,” Hicks stands 6-foot-1 and fights from an orthodox stance. He began his professional career in January 2022 after previously competing as an amateur.
Hicks started his professional career with a series of stoppage victories, defeating Montrel James, Bruno Leonardo Romay, Jonathan Batista and Luis Solis inside the distance. As he progressed, he also demonstrated his ability to box over longer distances, earning unanimous-decision victories over Bilal Quintyne, Antonio Todd, Ramses Agaton and Ronnie Austion.
In February 2024, Hicks stopped Ricardo Ruben Villalba in the fourth round. The following year, he faced Wendy Toussaint in a ten-round contest for the vacant IBF USBA super welterweight title, suffering a narrow split-decision defeat.
