Jin Sasaki, born on July 28, 2001, in Hachioji, Tokyo, is a Japanese professional boxer renowned for his explosive power and aggressive fighting style. Despite a modest amateur record of 1-3, Sasaki quickly made waves in the professional ranks. Competing across the lightweight, super lightweight, and welterweight divisions, he has compiled an impressive record.
Sasaki began his professional journey in August 2018 with a second-round TKO win and quickly ascended the domestic boxing scene. In December 2020, he captured the Japan Super Lightweight Youth title with a dominant third-round TKO over Aso Ishiwaki. He successfully defended the title against Kaiki Yuba in July 2021, winning by KO in just the second round, which earned him a shot at national and regional championships.
However, Sasaki’s rise wasn't without setbacks. He faced Andy Hiraoka for the Japanese and WBO Asia-Pacific Super Lightweight titles in October 2021 but lost via 11th-round TKO after coming in overweight, disqualifying him from title contention. The incident led to a six-month suspension by the Japan Boxing Commission. Despite this, he rebounded strongly, claiming the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific welterweight title with a stunning first-round TKO over Ryota Toyoshima in January 2023.
Continuing his momentum, Sasaki secured a unanimous decision victory over veteran Shoki Sakai in January 2025, further establishing his credentials as one of Japan’s most exciting young boxing talents.
