Constantin Ursu

Constantin Ursu is a Moldovan southpaw who moved to Plymouth, England, as an 18-year-old in 2018 with little money and no English, initially intending to stay for just one month. He went on to build his professional career in Britain and has remained unbeaten since turning professional in 2019. Ursu captured the vacant Southern Area welterweight title in 2023 with a third-round stoppage of Matthew King. He continued his rise with a second-round stoppage of Lewis Booth in December 2024, earning a shot at the British and Commonwealth titles.

In March 2025, Ursu stopped Eithan James in the seventh round to claim the vacant Commonwealth welterweight title. He added the WBO European title with a unanimous decision over Ryan Amos in November before defeating Owen Cooper by unanimous decision in February 2026 to become British champion.

A 6-foot southpaw, Ursu has built his reputation on a long unbeaten run and a hard-earned journey from Chișinău to Plymouth. He is now scheduled to defend his British and Commonwealth titles against Ben Vaughan at The O2 Arena in London on August 29, 2026.
