Carlos Utria

Carlos Alfonso Utria Lopez (born September 10, 2003) is a Colombian professional boxer from Soplaviento, Colombia. Fighting from an orthodox stance, Utria competes in the super lightweight division and began his professional career in May 2023.

Utria made an immediate impact as a professional, stopping Alan Anaya in the first round of his debut before adding further knockout victories over Carlos Quintero, Luis Diaz Marmol and Hernan Perez during his first year in the paid ranks.

In June 2024, Utria captured the WBA Fedecaribe super lightweight title with a first-round knockout of Robinson Garcia. He defended the belt two months later by stopping Helber Rojas in the second round.

Utria gained wider recognition in 2025 through the WBC Boxing Grand Prix at 140 pounds. He stopped Elianel Guerrero in the round of 32, outpointed Alan Crenz and Spencer Wilcox, and then halted Ntethelelo Nkosi in the opening round of the semifinal.

In the tournament final, Utria defeated Mujibillo Tursunov by unanimous decision to win the 2025 WBC Boxing Grand Prix super lightweight tournament. The victory earned him the José Sulaimán Trophy and established one of the defining achievements of his early professional career. He was also named BoxingScene’s 2025 Prospect of the Year.
