Biography
Carlos Alejandro Castro Manríquez (born March 6, 1994) is an American professional boxer and former regional titleholder who has competed at super bantamweight and featherweight.
Born in Ciudad Obregón, Mexico, Castro moved to the United States as a child and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, where his father introduced him to boxing when he was seven. The sport quickly became his focus, and he developed a technical, composed style built around timing, accuracy, and discipline.
Castro turned professional on June 16, 2016, winning a unanimous decision over Tony Green in Phoenix. He rose through the ranks steadily, putting together a 19-0 record before claiming his first belt — the WBC USNBC super bantamweight title — by stopping Alexis Santiago in the final round in 2018. Later that year, he signed with Top Rank, continuing his run against stronger opposition.
In February 2019, Castro added another achievement by defeating Genesis Servania for the WBC Continental Americas super bantamweight title. After several successful outings, he moved up to featherweight and stopped former contender Cesar Juarez, proving his power carried to the new division.
One of the highlights of his career came in 2021, when he knocked out former interim world champion Óscar Escandón to win the WBC Continental Americas featherweight title, scoring knockdowns in rounds seven and ten before sealing the finish.
