Jermall Charlo’s next fight is still not confirmed, but Michael Zerafa says he is one of four names being considered for the former champion’s planned return on the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Tim Tszyu undercard in Australia.
Zerafa told World Boxing News that talks have already taken place over a possible fight with Charlo. “There’s been talks of me being the opponent,” Zerafa said. “Charlo is looking for opponents and I was a pick among three others.”
Charlo returned last year with a sixth-round stoppage of Thomas LaManna, but he has remained largely inactive since then. A spot on the Spence-Tszyu card would give him another high-profile platform as he tries to rebuild momentum.
Zerafa believes his experience could make him the preferred option. “I believe if he picks from the four that are given I’ll be picked as I’m the more experienced out of the bunch,” he said.
