Derek Chisora appears set to end his long and dramatic career by facing a familiar rival. The 41-year-old heavyweight’s 50th professional fight will take place on December 13 in Manchester, and according to David Haye, the opponent could be none other than Dillian Whyte.

Chisora had previously been linked to bouts with Zhilei Zhang and Jarrell Miller, both of whom were in talks to headline against him under Queensberry Promotions. Zhang, however, was replaced by Miller as the frontrunner before those discussions also fizzled out. That has now opened the door for Whyte, with Haye telling SunSport, “Him and Dillian Whyte are doing a third fight. So I’m looking forward to that sort of Christmas cracker.”

If confirmed, the bout would complete one of British boxing’s most heated rivalries. The pair first met in 2016, when Whyte edged a split decision after a bruising twelve-round war. Their rematch two years later ended emphatically, with Whyte scoring a dramatic 11th-round knockout to close the rivalry – or so it seemed.
