Demetrius Andrade returned from nearly three years out of the ring with a first-round knockout of Douglas Ataide at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

The former two-division world champion ended the scheduled 10-round super middleweight bout at 2:09 after landing a sharp left followed by a right hand that sent Ataide to the canvas.

Andrade showed little sign of ring rust, using his speed and timing to take control before producing the clean finish. The fight marked his first appearance since being stopped by David Benavidez in six rounds in November 2023.

The quick victory puts Andrade back into the super middleweight conversation, although tougher opposition will be needed to show whether he can still compete with the division’s leading fighters.
