Oleksandr Usyk’s quest to repeat as undisputed heavyweight champion meets Daniel Dubois’ bid for revenge this Saturday, 19 July, beneath the Wembley arch. The live pictures come via DAZN pay-per-view - the only place to see whether Dubois can add Usyk’s WBA (Super), WBO and WBC belts to the IBF title he has collected since their first meeting.
Dubois, 27, insists that “Father Time” is closing on the 38-year-old Ukrainian and vows to bring “chaos” with a sharper jab and newly minted confidence from three straight knockout wins. Usyk shrugs off the age narrative, pointing to a résumé that reads two wins over Tyson Fury and two over Anthony Joshua in his last five fights. “Thirty-eight is not old,” he says; Dubois calls that the language of a man about to feel every second of it.
The prediction desk is split but leans blue-and-yellow:
- Tony Bellew and Eddie Hearn both foresee a late stoppage for Usyk, while Carl Frampton and Ade Oladipo expect a wide points win.
- Lennox Lewis and Johnny Fisher outline Dubois’ path - sustained body work and the right-hand equaliser - and comedian Tom Davis outright picks the upset.
- BBC analyst Steve Bunce calls Usyk “too smart, too slick,” yet trainer Dave Coldwell warns that if Fury’s wars have aged the champion, “we could see a changing of the guard.”
Friday’s scales offered no mind-games: Dubois tipped a stone heavier, Usyk stared through him without a word. The ring will reveal whether bulk and youth can topple footwork and IQ, or if Usyk reinforces his claim as the era’s most complete heavyweight.
