Tyson Fury kept his planned showdown with Anthony Joshua on track by forcing Mariusz Wach to retire after seven rounds in Pattaya, Thailand.

Fury controlled the untelevised heavyweight contest from the opening bell and appeared to win every round before the 46-year-old Polish veteran remained on his stool at the end of the seventh.

The former heavyweight champion was outweighed by his opponent for the first time in 15 years, but Wach’s size made little difference in front of the 1,500 spectators inside Max Muay Thai Stadium.

The victory was Fury’s second since returning from retirement, following his April win over Arslanbek Makhmudov at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
