Terence Crawford has dismissed reports that Turki Alalshikh offered him a major payday to return for a rematch with Canelo Alvarez. Crawford retired after defeating Canelo and becoming a three-division undisputed champion, but speculation continued that a second fight could tempt him back into the ring.
“The rumors about Turki offering Terence Crawford a huge bag for a rematch against Canelo are not true,” Crawford said.
Asked whether anyone had offered him a fight since the Canelo victory, Crawford answered that no approaches had been made. He also confirmed that he and Alalshikh had not discussed any potential comeback.
“We ain’t talked about no fights,” Crawford said. “No, nothing.”
Crawford added that when people encourage him to return, he asks what opponent or goal would justify it. For now, the former undisputed champion appears satisfied with retiring at the top.
