Turki Alalshikh is reportedly already looking toward a potential 2027 heavyweight fight between Oleksandr Usyk and David Benavidez.

According to the report, Alalshikh wants to match Usyk and Benavidez for the heavyweight championship, moving Benavidez into even deeper territory after his recent jump to 200 pounds. The timing is bold, with Benavidez only just arriving at cruiserweight after stopping Gilberto Ramirez to win two titles.

That performance answered one major question: Benavidez’s power carried up. He became the first fighter to stop Ramirez, proving he could hurt and break down a durable champion who had never previously been halted.

Still, the idea of facing Usyk at heavyweight brings a different level of risk. Usyk remains one of boxing’s most technically complete fighters, and Benavidez would need to prove he can continue adapting before such a matchup becomes realistic.
