The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was on fire yesterday, as the towering 6'5" Sebastian Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs) squared off with WBO junior middleweight champion Tim Tszyu (24-1, 17 KOs), and not only Tszyu’s title but also the vacant WBC 154-lb belt.

Fundora brought a relentless onslaught that left Tszyu battling not just his opponent but a severe cut impairing his vision with blood. The bout concluded with judges delivering a split in favor, 116-112 twice for Fundora.

In the co-main event, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz (26-2-1, 18 KOs) put on a dominant performance against WBA light welterweight champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero (15-2, 13 KOs), sealing the fight with an eighth-round technical knockout.

In the undercard, Erislandy Lara (30-3-3, 17 KOs) returned from a two-year hiatus to claim a stunning victory over Michael Zerafa (31-5, 19 KOs), the number one WBA contender, with a knock-out in the second round. Lara’s powerful left hand sent Zerafa crashing to the canvas.

Julio Cesar Martinez (21-3, 15 KOs) edged out a 12-round majority decision against Angelino Cordova (18-1-1, 12 KOs). Despite Cordova’s formidable comeback in the latter rounds, Martinez held on to victory with scores of 114-112, 114-112, and 113-113, following two early knockdowns.

The event kicked off with Serhii Bohachuk (24-1, 23 KOs) clinching the interim WBC junior middleweight title over Brian Mendoza (22-4, 16 KOs) in a unanimous decision victory. Bohachuk’s pace overpowered Mendoza, who fought valiantly despite a suspected jaw injury, reflecting in the final tallies of 118-110, 117-111, and 117-111.
