George Rose, head of No Limit Boxing, admits that Tim Tszyu’s upcoming fight against Joey Spencer on April 6 is “do or die.” The 29-year-old Tszyu (24-2, 17 KOs) suffered a rough 2024 campaign, losing to Bakhram Murtazaliev and Sebastian Fundora after an undefeated start to his career. Facing Spencer (19-1, 11 KOs) at the Newcastle Entertainment Center, Tszyu hopes to re-establish his name at the top of the junior middleweight division.

“This is the biggest fight of Tim’s career, no question,” said Rose. “A statement win puts Tim right back in the mix at 154, which is the best division in boxing right now.” Rose mentions potential future opponents such as Jermell Charlo, Keith Thurman, Errol Spence Jr., and Vergil Ortiz Jr., while also pointing to a possible rematch with Fundora - citing the “narrow decision” Tszyu dropped after suffering a gruesome cut in their 2024 encounter.
Rose acknowledges there’s no shortage of high-profile matchups for Tszyu if he secures an impressive victory on April 6. “Expect fireworks,” he adds.
