Saturday night at the Boeing Center in San Antonio, Texas, witnessed an intense battle for the vacant WBO flyweight title as Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez (18-0, 11 KOs), a former WBC super flyweight champion, went toe-to-toe with Christian Gonzalez (15-2, 5 KOs).

Throughout the bout, Rodriguez demonstrated his dominance by relentlessly pursuing Gonzalez, delivering powerful shots and seeking a knockout. Despite his best efforts, Rodriguez was unable to secure the knockout victory, while Gonzalez appeared more focused on surviving the fierce assault than actually winning the fight. The night concluded with Rodriguez triumphing in a twelve-round unanimous decision, capturing the much-coveted WBO flyweight championship and solidifying his status in the world of boxing.

In the co-main event, underdog Marlon Tapales (37-3, 19 KOs) claimed victory over previously unbeaten Murodjon Akhmadaliev (11-1, 8 KOs) in a twelve-round split decision to snatch the IBF & WBA super bantamweight titles. Judges scored the bout 115-113, 115-113 for Tapales and 118-110 for Akhmadaliev. Tapales started strong, building an early lead before losing steam in the later rounds.
