Bob Arum has revealed that Saudi backers are putting forward a lucrative three-fight deal for Teofimo Lopez. The Top Rank promoter says the proposal is “very much” to his liking, but it’s now up to Lopez to decide if he’s on board. The plan reportedly involves tough fights, potentially including IBF champion Richardson Hitchins and even a clash with Jaron “Boots” Ennis. Arum is hopeful the 26-year-old will accept, but he acknowledges Lopez often has his own ideas about his career.

It’s worth mentioning that Lopez was not that active and ready for major challenges in recent times. He turned down a Subriel Matias fight and hasn’t sought a rematch with George Kambosos Jr. Even Devin Haney recently claimed Lopez declined an offer. People argue Teofimo’s reluctance to face top-level competition will hold him back, though others say he’s preserving himself from potentially damaging losses. Arum believes this Saudi offer could be a defining moment, but warns that if Lopez goes 0-3 in the new deal, he may find himself on the outside looking in.
Should Lopez sign on, and if the rumored opponents materialize, the path ahead won’t be easy. Yet, Arum insists the financial incentives and international exposure might convince Lopez to test his limits.
