Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol will face off for the undisputed light heavyweight championship on October 12 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Beterbiev, holding the WBC, WBO, and IBF belts, and Bivol, the WBA titleholder, will finally determine who reigns supreme at 175 lbs.
The card also features WBC featherweight champion Skye Nicolson defending her title against British contender Raven Chapman. Meanwhile, Australian IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia will battle the UK’s Jack Massey, and Fabio Wardley will defend his British heavyweight title against Frazer Clarke.
Puerto Rican fighter Jan Paul Rivera-Pizarro is set to take on Las Vegas’ Andy Beltran in the main event of MVP 9 at the Coliseo Roger Mendoza in Caguas, Puerto Rico, on October 11. The super featherweight contest will have the WBC Latino regional title on the line, with Rivera looking to impress in front of his home crowd.
The card also features Puerto Rican Krystal Rosado-Ortiz, who will face Mexico's Perla Lomeli at super bantamweight. New York-based Puerto Rican middleweight Alexis Chaparro will meet Steven Kirkwood from Maine, and Bronx native Elijah Flores is set to clash with local fighter Omar Rosario at welterweight.
On October 13, Japan’s Takuma Inoue will defend his WBA bantamweight title against fellow countryman Seiya Tsutsumi at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo. In the co-main event, Kenshiro Teraji faces Cristofer Rosales for the vacant WBC light flyweight title.
Also on the card, Seigo Yuri Akui defends his WBA flyweight title against Thailand’s Thananchai Charunphak, while Shokichi Iwata will meet Spain’s Jairo Noriega for the vacant WBO light flyweight belt.
So, to cut the long story short, prepare your popcorn boxing fans, it's gonna be a hell of a week!
