The World Boxing Association Championships Commission has set Monday, March 13 of 2023, as the date for the purse bid for the middleweight world title fight between Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) and Erislandy Lara (29-3, 17 KOs).
After setting a legal deadline for the negotiations, the committee planned the Purse bid, which is a component of the World Title Reduction Plan and pits the super champion and the champion against one another in an effort to choose a single champion at 160 pounds.
The vice-chairman of the championship committee, the Panamanian Julio Thyme, will be in charge of obtaining the rights for a minimum of 200,000 US Dollars, with a split of 75% going to Golovkin and 25% going to Lara.
The formal resolution was communicated to both fighters’ teams so that they are aware and have adequate time to make preparations.
