Shane Mosley Jr. scored the biggest win of his career on Sunday at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, stopping Serhii Bohachuk in the sixth round of the Zuffa Boxing 06 main event.
Mosley Jr. was not expected to outgun Bohachuk in a close-range battle, but he chose to stand and trade with the Ukrainian pressure fighter. Bohachuk pushed a hard pace, yet Mosley’s movement and composure helped him survive the early fire and find his own moments.
The fight began to turn late in the fourth round. Bohachuk landed clean shots in the closing seconds, but Mosley answered with a sharp right hand that staggered him at the bell and shifted the momentum.
Mosley came out stronger in the fifth and then took control in the sixth, pressing forward and breaking through Bohachuk’s defense. A jab stunned Bohachuk, and a right hand sent him to the canvas before Mosley followed up with a finishing attack.
The stoppage came at 2:38 of round six, giving Mosley a statement victory over one of the division’s most dangerous punchers. “I’m getting better, man, getting better every day,” Mosley said afterward.
After the win, Mosley turned his attention toward fellow Zuffa middleweight Callum Walsh, while Bohachuk is left to regroup after losing two of his last three fights.
