Tyson Fury has made it clear that while a long-awaited clash with Anthony Joshua remains his top priority, he already has an alternative in mind if the deal fails to materialise.

Fresh off his unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov in London, Fury once again called for the Joshua fight. However, Joshua struck a more cautious tone, insisting that nothing is finalized until both sides are satisfied with the terms.

Despite that uncertainty, Fury was direct about his next move should negotiations stall. “I wanna fight Anthony Joshua – that’s it,” he said. “Or, if AJ don’t want it, then let’s get Usyk in the trilogy.”

A third bout with Oleksandr Usyk would carry significant intrigue, given Fury’s belief that he deserved to win their previous encounters in 2024, both of which ended in points defeats for the Brit. The chance to avenge those losses remains a motivating factor.

While Saudi advisor Turki Alalshikh has suggested that a Fury-Joshua fight could soon be announced, the situation remains unresolved. For now, Fury wants Joshua first, but if not, a return to rivalry with Usyk could be next.
