Shadasia Green remains in intensive care after suffering a brain bleed during her knockout loss to Lani Daniels at MVPW-02 on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.
The former unified super middleweight champion was stopped in the ninth round after Daniels landed a sustained series of right hands that went unanswered, prompting the referee to halt the bout. Green was immediately placed on a stool before being taken from the ring on a stretcher and transported to a local hospital. According to Most Valuable Promotions’ head of boxing Mike Leonard, she was “awake and talkative” following the fight.
In a message shared on social media, Green revealed the severity of her condition, confirming she had passed out due to bleeding on the brain. She also stated that she remains in the ICU but is now focused on recovery after the frightening incident.
“With everything in me I wanna thank those who had great concern… I passed out due to bleeding out of my brain,” Green wrote. “However, I am in ICU on the road to healing.”
