Amanda Serrano returns home to Puerto Rico on January 3 to defend her unified WBA and WBO featherweight titles against unbeaten contender Reina Tellez at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan. The bout replaces Serrano’s planned rematch with Erika Cruz, which was canceled after an “atypical finding” in Cruz’s Voluntary Anti-Doping Association testing, as confirmed by Most Valuable Promotions.
Serrano enters the fight with a record of 47-4-1 (31 KOs) and is looking to rebound after consecutive defeats to Katie Taylor. Tellez, 13-0-1 (5 KOs), is a 22-year-old Team USA veteran and former WBC Youth featherweight titleholder who now challenges for two major world belts.
The card also features a notable co-main event, with WBA lightweight champion Stephanie Han defending her title against former boxing and UFC champion Holly Holm. Han won the belt in February with a first-round knockout of Hannah Terlep and has been unbeaten since turning professional in 2021, entering the bout as the reigning champion.
