Ryan Garcia claims retired pound-for-pound star Terence Crawford is helping Conor Benn prepare for their September 12 welterweight title fight in Las Vegas.

Garcia will defend his WBC welterweight title against Benn at T-Mobile Arena and says he is aware Crawford has been spending time at Benn’s gym ahead of the contest.

“I know that Crawford is at Conor Benn’s gym, trying to give him every technique that he can give him,” Garcia said on The Ariel Helwani Show.

Garcia dismissed the potential impact of Crawford’s involvement, arguing that no amount of advice can replace what Benn has to do once the fight begins. “They can’t fight for Conor Benn,” he said.

If Garcia wins, he has expressed interest in future unification fights with WBA champion Teofimo Lopez or WBO titleholder Devin Haney, as well as a possible fight with Crawford should the former champion return from retirement.

Benn, meanwhile, is expected to move up in weight after the Garcia fight regardless of the result.
