Roy Jones Jr. expects Tim Tszyu to cause Errol Spence Jr. problems early before Spence’s pressure and conditioning begin to decide the fight. The Hall of Famer believes Tszyu’s best chance will come in the opening rounds, when his aggression could test Spence after nearly three years out of the ring.
“If you get past four or five rounds, Errol definitely is going to beat him,” Jones said. “You get him past round six, and you’ve got a problem on your hands.”
Jones compared Spence’s relentless style to Marvin Hagler’s, arguing that his constant pressure becomes increasingly difficult to handle as fights progress. He also believes Spence remains more technically skilled than many remember, even though his professional success has often been built around pressure, stamina and physical strength.
According to Jones, the key is whether Spence can reach the middle rounds without suffering major damage. If he does, the former unified welterweight champion is expected to take control and move back toward the title picture.
