Mayerlin Rivas is set to defend her WBA world super bantamweight title against Erika Cruz at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles on November 18, with the fight being broadcast live on DAZN. Rivas will be making her third title defense this year. Her previous fight ended in a technical draw due to an accidental headclash. Rivas became a two-weight champion in 2020 and successfully defended her title in 2022. Cruz, a former featherweight champion, is aiming to become a two-weight world champion. After her bout with Amanda Serrano, Cruz moved down in weight and secured a win against Melissa Oddessa Parker.
Both fighters expressed their excitement and determination for the upcoming bout. Rivas thanked God for the opportunity and is aiming for unification after this fight. Cruz, on the other hand, promised a war in the ring and is determined to bring another world title to Mexico.
The event will also feature Marc Castro, who will be fighting over ten rounds for the first time against Gonzalo Fuenzalida. Castro is looking forward to showcasing his skills in LA and aims to end 2023 on a high note. Additionally, Criztec Bazaldua will face Pedro Angel Cruz in his third professional fight.

He also mentioned the progress of Marc Castro and Criztec Bazaldua in their respective careers.
