Richard Torrez Jr. will return to the ring on November 15 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, as he looks to maintain momentum in a rapidly shifting heavyweight landscape. American will face Tomas Salek of the Czech Republic on the undercard of Rafael Espinoza’s WBO featherweight title defense against Arnold Khegai.
The bout marks another step for the Californian southpaw, who continues to build his record under the Top Rank banner despite uncertainty surrounding the promoter’s broadcast future. Torrez is expected to dispatch Salek with ease, with the Czech heavyweight offering limited resistance against world-level opposition. British contender Nathan Gorman stopped Salek in one round back in 2022, and Torrez will aim to do the same or better.

The 25-year-old Olympic silver medallist last fought in a dominant 10-round points win over Guido Vianello, but this result has aged well following Vianello’s recent knockout victory over Alexis Barriere in Philadelphia.
