One more exciting event has recently ended up, in the main event of which Tim Tszyu (22-0, 16 KOs) squared off against Tony Harrison (29-4-1, 21 KOs).
Eventually, at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena, Tim Tszyu secured the interim WBO belt and emulated his Hall-of-Fame father Kostya by winning a world boxing title, after dropping Tony Harrison in the ninth round with a series of savage blows to the head and body. Tszyu appeared to be ahead on points when he suddenly sprang to life and relentlessly pummeled Harrison, prompting the referee to stop the fight.
Official fight highlights:
Tszyu's victory comes 28 years after Kostya claimed his maiden world title, the IBF super-lightweight strap, by knocking out Jake Rodriguez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas when Tim was just two months old.
The Tszyus are now part of an exclusive group of only six father-son boxing world champions, which includes legendary figures such as Julio Cesar Chavez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, as well as Leon and Corey Spinks.
