Manny Pacquiao could find himself back in a world title fight at 154 pounds following his scheduled rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. on September 19 in Las Vegas. Both potential WBC champions have indicated they would be open to facing Pacquiao, offering the eight-division champion a clear route to another title opportunity.

Keith Thurman, who challenges Sebastian Fundora for the WBC super welterweight title, stated he would welcome a rematch with Pacquiao if he wins the belt. “I’m not gonna say no to a good fight… it would be a redemption fight for me,” Thurman said, reflecting on his 2019 split-decision loss. Fundora has also expressed interest in facing Pacquiao, meaning the opportunity could remain regardless of who holds the title.

Pacquiao, who turns 48 later this year, previously won the WBC super welterweight title in 2010 against Antonio Margarito. A second shot at the same belt decades later would mark another notable chapter in his career, depending on the outcome of his rematch with Mayweather.
