Mark Magsayo returns home on October 29 in Manila for a WBC super featherweight title eliminator against Italy’s Michael Magnesi, as the WBC has confirmed the stakes: the winner becomes mandatory challenger to champion O’Shaquie Foster.
Magsayo rides a four-fight win streak since a March 2023 decision loss to Brandon Figueroa. He last boxed in July on the Pacquiao–Barrios undercard in Las Vegas, defeating Jorge Mata by unanimous decision. This will be his first fight in the Philippines in over six years, dating back to his August 2019 victory over Panya Uthok in Tagbilaran City.

Magnesi has rebuilt with back-to-back decision wins over Kevin Trana (October) and Khalil El Hadri (March) after a stoppage defeat to Masanori Rikiishi in a bid for the WBC Silver belt. The matchup pits Magsayo’s pace and home-crowd surge against Magnesi’s reset momentum and road ambition.
Waiting at the top is Foster from Orange, Texas, who became a two-time champion last November by split decision in a rematch with Robson Conceicao. Undercard bouts, broadcast details, as well as official announcement with poster are expected soon.
