Adam Azim insists that an impressive victory over former world champion Sergey Lipinets this Saturday would surpass any triumph to date for British rival Dalton Smith.
Azim, who faces Lipinets at the OVO Arena Wembley live on Sky Sports, aims to prove his place among the super lightweight elite by taking on his toughest challenge yet. The 21-year-old from Slough believes Lipinets’ resume far exceeds that of Smith’s recent opponents, including José Zepeda - a world title challenger whom Smith stopped last year.

Azim, regularly compared to fellow unbeaten Brit Smith, commended Smith’s quick demolition of Walid Ouizza to capture the European title. However, he downplayed the importance of that result, suggesting Ouizza was on the same level as an early-career opponent he himself faced.
Azim’s focus remains firmly on Lipinets, who he says has never encountered a fighter like him and if all goes according to plan, Azim hopes a victory on Saturday will strengthen his claim as Britain’s top rising star at 140 pounds, paving the way for a future showdown with Smith.
