Liam Paro says talks for a welterweight unification fight with Devin Haney have gone quiet and claims the WBO champion is avoiding him.
Paro says he is ready to fight by the end of October and denied suggestions that his financial demands caused negotiations to stall. “Haney is ducking me,” Paro said. “I’ve said I’m good to fight by the end of October, and we ain’t heard a thing.”
Paro also insisted he is willing to travel for the fight. “I’ll fight him next, no worries. I’ll fight him in his backyard or mine.”
Haney also has another option in WBA champion Jack Catterall, whose team says it has already accepted a proposed date and location.
For now, no opponent has been confirmed for Haney.
