Highly regarded heavyweight prospect Leo Atang will begin 2026 almost immediately after closing out his year with another emphatic win. The 18-year-old from York improved to 3-0 (3 KOs) on December 20 in Accra, Ghana, stopping fellow unbeaten Babu Yusuf in the first round on the undercard of Craig Richards vs. Dan Azeez.
Atang’s momentum will carry straight into the new year, with Matchroom Boxing confirming his return on January 31 in Newcastle, England. He will appear on the undercard of Bakhram Murtazaliev’s junior middleweight title defense against Josh Kelly.
The 6-foot-6 Atang has wasted little time in dispatching his opposition since turning professional. All three of his bouts in 2025 ended in the opening round, including stoppage victories over Milen Paunov in July and Cristian Uwaka in September before his latest win against Yusuf.
