Lauren Price is expected to return to the ring this summer before moving into a two-fight agreement with Claressa Shields, according to promoter Ben Shalom.
Price extended her unbeaten record to 10-0 with a unanimous decision victory over Stephanie Pineiro in Cardiff, marking her first fight in over a year. She is now being lined up for another bout in August, potentially again in the Welsh capital.
Plans are already in motion for a high-profile double-header with Shields, who was ringside for Price’s latest win. Shalom indicated the fights are expected to take place first in the United States, followed by a major event in Cardiff, possibly at a larger venue such as Cardiff City Stadium or Cardiff Castle.
The proposed matchups are likely to be contested at middleweight. Shields, the current undisputed heavyweight champion, has previously competed successfully at middleweight, making the matchup viable for both fighters.
