Former WBC junior flyweight world champion, Kim Clavel (17-1, 3 KOs), returned to the ring to face off against Mexico's Naomi Reyes (9-3, 5 KOs) at Place Bell in Laval. Coming off her first career defeat back in January, Clavel showcased her resilience and determination in this challenging bout.

The contest was a tough one for Clavel, requiring her full effort and focus. Despite sustaining a cut above her left eye in the eighth round from a clash of heads, and an injury to her nose from an uppercut in the tenth, Clavel’s resilience never faltered. After the grueling match, she reflected, “It was quite a fight. Probably the hardest hitting girl I’ve ever fought against. Coming back from a loss is not easy...It takes courage and work. You have to be positive in your head all the time.”

Clavel’s determination paid off, leading her to a ten-round unanimous decision victory over Reyes. This triumph not only signified her successful return to the ring but also resulted in her taking home the WBC International and WBO Intercontinental titles. With her comeback, Clavel has sparked renewed hope for another world title fight, with her promoter, Yvan Michel of GYM, actively working on securing her a spot.

The event at Place Bell in Laval also featured stunning performances from other boxers. Sebastien Bouchard (20-2-1, 9 KOs) and Patrice Volny (17-1, 11 KOs) both returned to the ring after significant absences, facing Fernando Marquez (11-2, 9 KOs) and Abraham Juarez Ramirez (21-11-1, 10 KOs), respectively. Their bouts, alongside Clavel’s comeback, made for an unforgettable night of boxing, highlighting the unyielding spirit and tenacity of the sport's participants.
