Quebec-based boxer Kim Clavel (16-0-1, 3 KOs) is set to return to the ring against Los Angeles native Naomi “La Chapita” Arellano Reyez (9-2-0, 5 KOs) in a rescheduled event now slated for Friday, May 12, at Place Bell in Laval. The date change was necessary due to the Laval Rocket’s participation in the playoffs, which created a scheduling conflict at the venue.
GYM President Yvon Michel explained the decision to postpone the boxing card, stating that the new date ensures no further conflicts will arise. All tickets purchased for the original April 28 date will be honored at the May 12 event.
The upcoming fight marks Clavel’s first return to the ring since her January 13 loss to WBA champion Yesica Nery Plata (29-2-0, 3 KOs) by decision, which cost her the WBC world title. Now 32 years old, Clavel aims to make a strong comeback, secure a rematch with Plata, and reestablish her position in the boxing world.
Clavel is currently ranked #1 WBC, #2 IBF, and #1 under the WBO. She claimed her WBC crown on July 29, 2022, in Montreal by defeating defending champion Yesenia Gomez in a 10-round unanimous decision at the Casino de Montreal.
