Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury could land at SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles, with the covered NFL venue now being discussed as a possible host for the long-awaited heavyweight clash.
According to officials briefed on conversations involving Turki Alalshikh, SoFi was mentioned as a preferred destination during last month’s boxing event in Egypt. While many British fans would still prefer the fight in the UK, staging it outdoors in autumn or winter could bring weather concerns.
SoFi Stadium offers a different kind of solution. The venue can be scaled for a massive crowd, has experience hosting major events, and sits in a US market with strong boxing interest. It would also continue the recent trend of Riyadh Season bringing major boxing nights to the United States.
Joshua is set to face Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Saudi Arabia, while Fury has said he plans to fight again on August 1 in Dublin. If both come through those interim bouts, their showdown is being targeted for later in the year.
Netflix is expected to stream the event, while Dana White continues to claim Zuffa Boxing will handle promotion despite pushback from Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren.
