At the Beacon of Light in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, UK, the boxing scene witnessed an impressive performance from WBO International Super Welterweight champion and WBO No. 1 ranked Josh “Pretty Boy” Kelly (15-1-1, 8 KOs).
Kelly, showcasing his skill and power, stopped Colombian opponent Placido Ramirez (24-4, 17 KOs) in just three rounds during an IBO eliminator. Dominating from the start, Kelly delivered a decisive jab and right uppercut in the third round, sending Ramirez to the canvas for a ten-count knockout, as declared by Referee John Latham.
The undercard featured several notable bouts, including Super Welterweight and 10x amateur champion southpaw Dan Toward (2-0, 1 KO). Toward impressed the crowd with his quick hands and dominant performance against Nikolas Dzurnak (6-6-2, 5 KOs), securing a victory over six rounds. Toward's lead left in the fifth round knocked down Dzurnak, contributing to a unanimous decision win with a score of 60-53.
In another Super Welterweight clash, Travis Waters (5-0, 3 KOs) showcased his skills and power against Mykhailo “Pitbull” Sovtus (5-30-1, 2 KOs). Waters dominated the first three rounds with his combination punches and finished the fight in the fourth round, earning a stoppage victory at 0:36, as Referee Steve Wilson called an end to the bout.
Welterweight Ben Marksby (9-0, 0 KOs) faced a tough challenge against Kurt Jackson (4-1, 0 KOs). Despite Jackson’s aggressive start in the first two rounds, Marksby turned the tide from the fourth round onwards, outworking Jackson to secure a 59-55 victory on the scorecards. Additionally, 3-time Featherweight amateur champion “Atomic” Tom Welland (2-0, 1 KO) continued his rise in the ranks with a comprehensive win over Yuri Zanoli (3-13-1, 3 KOs). Welland's power was evident as he scored a knockdown in the first round and continued to dominate, leading to a 60-53 unanimous decision.
