Joseph Parker is free to resume his boxing career after the provisional suspension that kept him out of the ring for more than seven months was lifted.
The suspension began after Parker returned a positive cocaine test from a sample collected on the day of his October 25, 2025 fight with Fabio Wardley at The O2 in London. Parker has consistently maintained that he never knowingly took a prohibited substance, while his team argued the result was caused by contamination.

“I’m pleased to confirm my provisional suspension is lifted and I’ll be back in the ring soon,” Parker said. “I’ve been advised to say no more for now while details are finalized.”
Cocaine is treated as a recreational substance under anti-doping regulations. However, the positive result still triggered an investigation and prevented Parker from competing while the case remained active.
Parker’s last appearance ended in an 11th-round stoppage defeat to Wardley, who took control during the second half of the fight. The loss was one of the most significant setbacks of the former WBO heavyweight champion’s career.
