Jesse Rodriguez has confirmed he turned down an approach from Zuffa Boxing, choosing instead to remain with Matchroom as he prepares for his next world title opportunity.

The unified champion revealed that contact had been made by Dana White’s new venture before he decided to re-sign with promoter Eddie Hearn. Rather than explore a move to a developing platform, Rodriguez opted for continuity at a key stage of his career.

Rodriguez’s decision comes as Zuffa Boxing continues to pursue established names in an effort to quickly build its roster. However, the 26-year-old, already proven at world level and still moving through weight classes, chose stability over uncertainty as he targets further achievements.

His focus now shifts to June 13, when he steps up to bantamweight to challenge Fernando Vargas for a world title, as a victory would see Rodriguez become a three-division world champion.
