Jermall Charlo, the 34-year-old boxing champion, has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a crash involving his Lamborghini in Texas earlier this year. The incident, which occurred in May 2024, led to Charlo striking another vehicle, and the situation has since escalated with additional legal consequences.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ and dated August 20, Charlo not only faces a DWI charge but has also been hit with a misdemeanor charge for leaving the scene of the accident. The crash reportedly took place on Brazoria County roadway on May 6, where Charlo allegedly got into a verbal altercation with the other driver before fleeing the scene.

Law enforcement officers tracked Charlo down after the crash, ultimately pulling him over only after surrounding his vehicle a mile from the scene. During questioning, the officers noted that Charlo appeared intoxicated. Subsequent tests revealed that his blood alcohol content was .15, nearly double the legal limit in Texas.

Despite these charges, Charlo’s attorney, Kent Schaffer, has maintained that the boxer has been in training and not using any drugs. Schaffer expressed optimism about finding a favorable resolution to the case, though the legal process is ongoing.
