Jack Turner’s rise through the professional ranks has been fast and ferocious, as the 23-year-old Liverpool fighter has needed just 27 rounds to secure 13 wins since his pro debut, earning a growing reputation as one of Britain’s most destructive pound-for-pound punchers.
Part of a red-hot production line from Liverpool, Turner has quickly become one of the city’s emerging ticket sellers. While excitement around him continues to build, he remains measured about his climb, even as he openly compares his punching power to the very best in the sport’s lighter weights.
“You’ve got [Jesse] Bam Rodriguez there at No. 1,” Turner told The Ring. “He is pound-for-pound one of the best fighters in the world but punch-wise I think I hit a lot harder than him.” Turner added that while he is in no rush, he would welcome the chance to prove it one day, saying he is “in this sport to fight the best.”
Nicknamed ‘El Terrier,’ Turner has had limited opportunities to refine his skills in longer bouts, largely because his opponents have struggled to survive. He opened his career with six straight first-round knockouts before being extended to four rounds by Darwing Martinez in June 2024, a fight that still featured two knockdowns in Turner’s favor.
Since that outing, the Liverpool prospect has returned emphatically to his destructive ways, scoring six consecutive stoppage victories, four of them inside two rounds. His next appearance is set for February 7 at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena, where he will feature on a showcase card headlined by WBA featherweight champion Nick Ball.
