Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that negotiations for a February 15 clash between Jack Catterall and Arnold Barboza Jr. are nearing completion. The bout, set to take place in Manchester, will serve as a WBO title eliminator, with the winner earning a shot at current champion Teofimo Lopez.
"[It’s] very close," Hearn said. “Jack has agreed, and we’re finalizing negotiations with Golden Boy for Arnold Barboza. We’re hoping to have everything signed in the next few days.”

The matchup would headline a major UK event for Matchroom, kicking off a strong 2025 boxing calendar. Hearn also announced plans for two other Matchroom shows in January, including a potential bout between Dalton Smith and Walid Ouizza in Nottingham on January 25, with a smaller promotion likely in London earlier in the month.
