Moses Itauma’s next fight has been moved to August 8 after his original July 25 date was rescheduled to avoid going head-to-head with Anthony Joshua’s return.
The unbeaten British heavyweight prospect was initially expected to fight at London’s O2 Arena on July 25, but that date has now been taken by Joshua’s bout against Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Promoter Frank Warren confirmed the change, saying there was no need to force a direct clash for audience attention. “We could have gone head to head and all this. It is what it is. We’ll just keep moving forward,” he said.
Itauma, 21, is unbeaten in 14 professional fights and raised his profile in March with a fifth-round knockout win over Jermaine Franklin. That fight was also the first time he had been taken beyond the second round since 2023.
An opponent has not yet been announced for the new August 8 date. Warren said his team is working on “a couple of names” but will not reveal anything until a contract is signed.
