Jared Anderson, the undefeated heavyweight boxer from Toledo, Ohio, finds himself battling outside the ring after a recent run-in with the law. CBS affiliate WOTL reports that Anderson was arrested by Oregon Police on charges including improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle and driving under the influence.
The arrest occurred after Anderson was stopped for speeding and police detected the smell of marijuana and alcohol emanating from his vehicle. A subsequent search revealed a firearm in the locked glove compartment. This incident places a cloud over the rising star’s bright career, as he was released on a $7,500 bond and is due for a hearing.
Anderson, with a near-perfect knockout record of 16-0 (15 KOs), is best known for his impressive stoppage of Andrey Rudenko in just five rounds during his last bout in August. This legal challenge presents a stark contrast to his in-ring accolades and raises questions about the future trajectory of his promising boxing career.
