Eddie Hearn has claimed Conor Benn offered him $250,000 to stop making negative comments after their promotional split.

Hearn promoted Benn from his 2016 debut through his major rivalry with Chris Eubank Jr., including the controversy around Benn’s failed drug tests in 2022 and the eventual two-fight series with Eubank last year. Benn lost the first fight on points before winning the rematch seven months later.

The relationship changed when Benn left Matchroom and signed with Zuffa Boxing earlier this year. What began as a one-fight deal later became a longer agreement after Benn defeated Regis Prograis.

Benn’s manager, Keith Connelly, recently claimed Hearn had been offered a “special advisor” role, but Hearn strongly rejected that version. “Offered me role as special advisor? Take your special advisor and stick it up your fucking slimey arse,” Hearn said.

Hearn then alleged that Benn’s side tried to pay him to stay quiet. “Conor Benn offered me money to keep my mouth shut,” he said. “It said it in the email from his lawyer… ‘we’ll give you $250,000 to not say anything negative about us’. Fuck off.”
