Devin Haney and his father Bill Haney are due to appear in court on April 6 following their arrest on misdemeanor assault charges linked to an incident in New York earlier this year.
The charges stem from a January 30 altercation at Madison Square Garden involving welterweight boxer Delante Johnson. According to reports, Haney and members of his team were involved in a physical confrontation that was captured on camera, including during a live broadcast.
Authorities stated that the victim sustained bruising and was treated in hospital in stable condition. Johnson’s team later confirmed that he was the individual involved in the incident.
Haney and his father were arrested on February 1 and formally pleaded not guilty during their arraignment on February 18. The case is scheduled to continue in New York Criminal Court next month.
