Tyson Fury has questioned Anthony Joshua’s punch resistance after watching Daniel Dubois stop Fabio Wardley in the 11th round to win the WBO heavyweight title.
Fury pointed to Dubois’ recent run, noting that he stopped Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic and Wardley without dropping them, while also landing heavy shots on Oleksandr Usyk without putting him down.
His focus was on Joshua’s 2024 defeat to Dubois, where Joshua was dropped several times before being stopped. “I’m not saying Anthony Joshua’s chinless but there are the facts,” Fury said. “Everybody else never went over… but Joshua goes down [four times]. Chinny!”
Dubois has now won four of his last five fights, with victories over Miller, Hrgovic, Joshua and Wardley, interrupted only by his second defeat to Usyk last July.
Fury is expected to face Joshua later this year if both come through interim fights. The former champion said details of his next “unbelievable, exciting” fight will be announced soon.
