Moses Itauma strengthened his growing reputation with a fifth-round stoppage of Jermaine Franklin, and promoter Frank Warren has already suggested a potential clash with Oleksandr Usyk.
The 21-year-old improved to 14-0 (12 KOs) with the win, becoming the first fighter to stop Franklin - something former champions Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte were unable to do.
Now Warren believes a fight with Usyk would be commercially viable and competitive. “Do you not think we’d sell Wembley Stadium out with Moses Itauma and Usyk?” he said, adding that he would be willing to make the fight immediately despite the gap in experience.
Usyk, who remains unbeaten and holds multiple heavyweight titles, has outlined plans for his remaining fights, starting with Rico Verhoeven in May. Itauma has not been mentioned in those plans, though his position in the rankings could eventually lead to a mandatory challenge.
